Founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1991, Evisu is named after the Japanese god of prosperity, Ebisu. Initially producing only 14 pairs of jeans a day, each meticulously hand-painted with the famous seagull logo, Evisu captured the imagination of the detail-obsessed Japanese fashion world and spurred a global revival of interest in vintage denim.
